About Jo Ann
Posted on 01/06/2009 10:40 am by adminI am a wife and a mother of 2 college age kids. I work as an accountant for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and love it. I got my bachelor’s degree at UTD after going to school at night for 11 years, followed by my CMA & CPA certificates. My loving husband of 25 years, Bob, is a programer. My daughter, Laura, is a full time college student and engaged to be married in May, 2009. My son, Danny, is taking a semester out of college and is working full time. I love my church family and am in love with my Lord Jesus. I fill the corners of my very full life with 2 small dogs that make me laugh, and occasionally scream.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October, 2008. I have been writing a journal about my journey through breast cancer, which I am now publishing. I believe God put me at National Breast Cancer Foundation and allowed me to have breast cancer so I can share my experience and perhaps somehow help others.
Early detection of breast cancer is so very important for a good prognosis. Encourage all the women you know to perform monthly self-exams and to find out from their doctors how often they should be getting mammograms.
